Company History

In 2003, a local philanthropist and the founder of the House of David Group, Ladislao S. David, had a clear vision in mind. The vision focused in establishing an educational institution providing “Academic Excellence and Integral Formation” for the underprivileged, but deserving students into higher level of education. This vision was the beginning of what we know now as Mary the Queen College.

His dream came into realization when he converted what used to be the Guagua Shopping Mall into a learning institution. On its initial year of operation, the college offered programs in business, education, and computer studies. Akin to any institution, the initial years proved difficult. With few students and meager facilities, the institution struggled to stay afloat. Things were pretty tough in those days. It was so tough that after just two years of operation, the Board of Directors decided to close the school. But through the Grace of God and the committed faith of its founder on his vision, the school continued in its operations.

This event of being at the verge of closure gave the school a revived vigor to achieve its goal. The management worked hard to change things around and their efforts were eventually realized. In the year 2006, the institution has posted considerable growth. Since then, it has never looked back. Today, MQC is undertaking measures for development in higher learning.

Year after year, the college has put pressure on itself to raise the bar of its standard of quality education and live up to its commitment of Academic Excellence. Starting year 2007, it has added courses such as BS Information Systems, BS Hotel and Restaurant Management, BS Information Technology, Bachelor of Elementary Education, and BS Accounting Technology.

In 2009, the institution tied up with government agencies such as the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) and thus MQC-Career Institute was founded, as the technical vocational arm of MQC and offered short vocational courses.

Since then, the institution has made its mark both in the province and even in the region. From the pioneer graduates, the school has contributed to society numerous Certified Public Accountants and Professional Teachers and close to a thousand of graduates that are now employed in various industries. Numerous competitions have been won by students that verified not only the best and the brightest, but highlighted traits of leadership, social awareness, integrity and spirituality. These and more are a testament to the holistic approach of molding individuals that the college has committed itself to pursue. Just recently in 2012, MQC started offering its night classes intended for working individuals who want to continue and finish college education.

In the past ten years, the school has created a tremendous impact on the lives of its neighboring communities. From its many scholars to the numerous community projects it has spearheaded, the school has helped countless lives break away from the vicious cycle of poverty.
