Program Descriptions

ACCOUNTANCY AND ACCOUNTING TECHNOLOGY (BSA & BSAT)

The BS Accountancy and BS Accounting Technology Programs aim to develop students who are capable of understanding the profession and to prepare them for careers in accounting, finance, taxation and other related business fields. It intends to produce graduates who are equipped with knowledge, skills, attitudes and values needed for them to have a competitive edge which the industry needs today.


Admission and Retention Policies

RETENTION POLICIES

  1. An accountancy student who finishes Accounting 1 to 4 and wishes to continue Accountancy Program should take and pass a qualifying examination before he will be allowed to enroll in Financial Accounting. He also has to pass the qualifying examinations in English and Math.
  2. A student who qualifies to enroll in the next curriculum year must maintain a general average of 85% with no failing grade in any subject enrolled during the semester. Should the student fail in at least 6 units of the minor subjects enrolled or should his grade in accounting be below 83%, he will be put under probation and will be given one year to lift said status.
  3. The probationary status will be lifted once the student enrolls and passes all previously failed minor subjects during the succeeding semesters. If the probation is due to failure to meet the required grade of 83% in accounting, he will be required to attend a summer refresher course in accounting and pass the examination to determine his proficiency.

Fifth Year of BSA Program

  1. Student has graduated with a degree in BSBA major in Accounting or BS Accounting Technology or its equivalent.
  2. No failure in any accounting or business law subjects.
  3. A minimum weighted point average of 2.50 for all accounting and business law subjects from first year to fourth year.
  4. Must pass a comprehensive examination for admission to Fifth year.
  5. A student who is accepted in the 5-year program should maintain a grade of 83% in all subjects enrolled. A student who fails to meet the required grade will not be allowed to enroll the following semester.
